the League City Barracudas! Let's show them how FAST we can swim!
The League City meet will be at:

forget to bring your shade canopy, chairs, drinks and games to play
between events! The pool is outside and is 8 lanes. The meet will
be scored with 3 timers per lane.

concessions stand.
Leaving the Meet & Relays
If you leave the meet before it’s completed (event
80), please have your swimmers check in with one of the coaches. It is
very likely that we may need to use your swimmer as a relay alternate so
we need to know they will be available. Please do not leave 3 other
swimmers disappointed who did stay for the final relays.
Other Important Information:
Arrival
& Circle In
Swimmers should come to the meet wearing their team
suits! Don’t forget team suit, goggles, towel, and team swim cap. ONLY
Pirates caps are allowed during the meet. You may not wear the cap with
another team logo. NO tech suits are allowed either!
It will be an early morning. Make sure to arrive at
6:30AM to circle-in (attendance check) and get ready for warmups which
will start at 7:20AM.
When circling-in, you will find out in which events
your swimmer is competing. Knowing event assignments will make for a
smooth and successful meet. Writing it on your swimmer’s arm with a
Sharpie also helps. Board members will be checking in swimmers, and Jr
Coaches will write their event numbers on the swimmer’s arm. Please take
a picture of your swimmer’s arm (there will be no stickers this year for
parents).
Warm-Ups and Ready Area
Warmups will be by age group. After warmups are
complete all swimmers will gather for a team cheer. Don’t miss the fun!
Swimmers must report to the Ready Area when their
events are called. It is so important that every parent and swimmer
follow this simple rule. In the Ready Area, swimmers will be sorted into
heats and lanes for their race. If the swimmer isn’t there, they cannot
swim. Please pay attention and help things run smoothly. Listen to the
bullhorn which will be announcing which events need to be in the ready
area.
As mentioned above, if you leave the meet before it’s
completed (event 80), please have your swimmers check in with one of the
coaches. It is very likely that we may need to use your swimmer as a
relay alternate so we need to know they will be available.
If your swimmer will miss the meet entirely, please
email [email protected] in
advance.
Volunteering (Directions for signing up are attached)
The
success of this team and the ability to run each meet is dependent on our
wonderful Pirate families. Parent involvement is the only way the meets
will proceed. We can’t do this without you! As a reminder, you are
required to volunteer if your child is swimming in a meet. If you do not volunteer,
your swimmer will be ineligible to participate, unless prior arrangements
have been made.
There are several volunteer spots still open for
Saturday. Please take a look and signup to help. When you arrive for the
meet, please proceed to the Volunteer Check-in Table which will be near
our Spirit Shop setup under the team tent. At the table there will be a
sign-in sheet to verify you arrived so your shift can be properly
reported. If you have signed up for the 2nd shift come back to the
volunteer check in by event 36 so we can ensure you are on your way to
your volunteer location. Please find a committee chair or a board member
for assistance.
After the Meet
We will send out a results file by Sunday which will
rank how swimmers finished overall. Included will be the league’s time
standards: Reserve and Champ times. Those standards are by age and by
event and can also be found under the Champ and Reserve Time section on
our team homepage. If your swimmer earned a Champ time you will find an
“a” next to the time or a “b” for Reserve time. Swimmers who have Reserve
and/or Champ times are eligible to participate in the league’s Champ Series.
If your swimmer’s time isn’t listed but instead reads
“DQ” they were disqualified by an official. Something in how they swam
wasn’t in line with swimming regulations and their time isn’t recorded.
If you have a question about why your swimmer may have DQ’d, please ask a
coach for feedback at practice.
Spirit Shop
We will have a Spirit Shop set up under the team tent.
We will have Pirates merchandise for sale, including shirts, visors, caps
and googles.
Please reach out with any questions!
